Gregory Cooper

Gregory Cooper

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Greg is a senior family law lawyer in Toronto who specializes in mediation, arbitration, mediation/arbitration and neutral evaluation. Greg firmly believes that family disputes can be better resolved outside of the adversarial court process. He is amongst the pioneers who brought about this revolution 25 years ago as one of the founding members of "Resolutions Inc."

Greg's style of practice ever since has been respectful and even-handed. He is amongst a handful of senior family lawyers in the province whose expertise and experience are sought out for the more complex and challenging family law disputes. Greg's success rate in settling family law disputes is an impressive 90%. He works doggedly to understand his clients' needs and address them in a calm, even-handed manner. Greg's success in helping people solve their problems is due primarily to his patience and common sense, which are perhaps the most essential characteristics of a successful mediator.

Greg has lectured and taught extensively in the family law and mediation-arbitration areas for both the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of Upper Canada. He holds a B.A. (Philosophy) from the University of Toronto, a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School of York University and is a Certified Family Arbitrator (ADR Institute of Ontario). Greg is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Family Law section of the Ontario Bar Association and the ADR Institute of Ontario. He is a Life Governor of York University, a member of the York University Founders' Society and a recipient of the Bryden Alumni Award honouring his outstanding contribution to York.
